DESCRIPTION

Our Tourist Guide will pick you up at your hotel or pre-determined meeting point and will drive you to the city of Aparecida, located around 170 km from the city of São Paulo.

Arriving at the site, the first stop will be at Porto Itaguaçu, the place where the image of Nossa Senhora Aparecida was found in 1717, by 3 local fishermen. Our Guide will tell more details of this story and all the importance of this finding for Catholic faith and religiosity in Brazil.

Continuing the tour, we will drive towards the upper city, where the historic city center and the old Aparecida Basilica are located. This church, now known as the Old Basilica, was inaugurated in 1888, replacing the old chapel where the image of the Saint used to be.

After that, we will walk towards the National Shrine of Nossa Senhora de Aparecida, currently considered the second largest basilica in the world, only behind the Vatican basilica. We will make our way through the "Faith footbridge", which connects the Old Basilica to the new Temple.

The new temple, known as the New Basilica, is a space that holds up to 45,000 people, a figure easily exceeded on October 12, the day of celebration of Our Lady of Aparecida.

Arriving at the place, you will have time to attend mass and have lunch (meals are not included), in addition to enjoying other attractions, such as, the room of promises, the Tower museum, the Nativity Scene, located on the Mount of Olives, among others.

You can also choose to ride the "Aparecida Cable Car" (ticket not included), which takes visitors to the Cruzeiro Hill, located at 685 meters high, providing an excellent panoramic view of the entire city and the Paraíba Valley.

After visiting all these places and getting to know the history of Aparecida better, you will be transported back to your hotel in São Paulo in complete comfort and safety.
